Hydrominds has commenced a new assignment to support the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the “Power Distribution Strengthening: Phase 2” project in Pakistan.
Pakistan is facing a deepening energy crisis as rapid population growth, urbanization, and industrial expansion push electricity demand beyond supply. Frequent power outages continue to disrupt economic activity, business operations, and daily life. Outdated transmission and distribution systems, along with high losses, further weaken the power sector.
In response to these challenges, ADB is supporting the Government of Pakistan through this project. This initiative introduces modern systems such as Asset Performance Management System and Advanced Metering Infrastructure, backed by data and analytics platforms, to improve efficiency and reliability. The project is being implemented across several distribution companies, including Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), Hazara Electric Supply Company (HAZECO), Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) and Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO).
Hydrominds conducts a comprehensive climate change assessment, including detailed climate risk and adaptation analysis, and GHG emissions reduction estimates. We will also provide recommendations for climate-resilient infrastructure design and improved meteorological monitoring capacity.
For this work hydrominds applies its profound expertise in mountain climate risk to connect climate science with sustainable infrastructure, helping build resilient, future-ready energy systems.
