In March, we kicked off the Third Pole for Food (3POLE4FOOD) project during the Asia Pacific Food Systems Forum at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headquarters in Manila.

In 3POLE4FOOD, which is part of ADB’s Resilient River Basins Initiative we work together with Wageningen Environmental Research and FutureWater to develop the knowledge base linking water generated in the high mountains of Asia to downstream food production. We produce future projections to identify future hotspots of water scarcity guiding ADB’s investments in climate change adaptation.

For this project hydrominds leverages its expertise in mountain hydrology to generate projections of high mountain water availability across Asia during the remainder of the 21st century when glaciers and snow cover are changing.
